An FPV (First Person View) drone engineer is responsible for the design, setup and maintenance of FPV drones. His main responsibilities include designing and assembling quadcopters, selecting and configuring FPV cameras and transmitters, programming flight controllers, and selecting and optimizing electronics.

In addition, an FPV drone engineer may be responsible for tuning the stabilization system to ensure a smooth and controlled flight, choosing the optimal battery type for maximum flight time, and improving the video signal transmission system to obtain the best possible real-time image.

The job of an FPV drone engineer can also involve learning about the latest technology and trends in the drone world to stay abreast of innovations and improve your designs. It is important to have the ability to diagnose and correct malfunctions in the operation of drones.

This type of engineer can not only assemble and modify ready-made models, but also develop their own designs using new materials and technologies to achieve optimal characteristics and functionality of the drone.

When assembling a drone from spare parts from different manufacturers, it is important to be able to choose them correctly. Therefore, in the theoretical part of the course, we will consider the following:

1) How to choose the right motor and propeller for your needs.
2) How to choose a regulator for steam (propeller + motor).
3) How to choose a flight controller to meet your goals.
4) How to choose a video transmitter (VTX) and camera, and how to control their power from the remote during flight.
5) How to correctly select antennas and their varieties.
6) What software is needed to configure the drones.
7) How to connect the remote control to the receiver on the drone.
8) How video and radio repeaters work, and what components they consist of.
9) How to connect reset systems.
10) How to find 3D models for your own needs.
11) How to properly use LiPo and Li-ion batteries.

In the practical part of the course, together we:

1) We will assemble and solder the drone from scratch.
2) Fully configure the assembled drone using the Betaflight configurator.
3) We will program and connect the remote control to the receiver on the drone using the ELRS protocol.
4) Connect the remote control to the receiver using the Crossfire protocol.
5) Connect the mask and goggles to the drone and prepare it for the first flight.
